Vangrace Compassion Ministries started in 2003 with the Main objectives of educating, feeding, medicating and sheltering the Orphans & Vulnerable Children under our Care and doing Missions (Missionary Programs to desolated communities here in Uganda). Working towards having a Poverty, Disease, Orphans and Witch craft (sorcerers) free Communities as those are the main spiritual and health issues we deal with.
Evangelist and Pastor Ivan Ssewankambo, The founder and Director of Vangrace Compassion Ministries as Well as the Senior Pastor of God's Village Church was also an orphan himself, and thus he knows it well how hard it is to survive on your own. He is aware of the pain attached to being an orphan. So Vangrace Compassion Ministries’ Orphanage does not only provides free medication, food and accommodation to the less - fortunate children, but also works for their education(Provides free education) for the brightness of their future and also finds foster parents for them too.
Pastor Ivan Ssewankambo also an Evangelist in Healing and Deliverance ministry calling, lost both parent toHIV/ AIDS at the tender age of 8 years old and there he received the first experience as an orphan. A few years after losing his parents he was tremendously blessed, when a very influential person stepped into his life and became a pillar of support. His training was fully sponsored and this gift of education inspired him and thus making a covenant that; he would do everything in his power to help the abandoned children, orphans and all the less fortunate children and extend Christ's Love for all throughout the country.
Evangelist Ssewankambo's life shifted into a greater dimension, when he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. This decision was the pivotal point in his life that launched him to an immense and even more susceptible position to become an advocate for orphans and the less fortunate.
He is devoted to each orphan of VCM-Orphanage and has ensured that each child receives better health care, education and food while providing a more proficient education system and a self-reliant community. In 2003, Ivan started the Orphanage with 15 children to fulfill his promise that he had made with God. Presently the Orphanage sponsors 279 children receiving free education, food, medication as well as general life cares needs.
Pastor Ivan Ssewankambo also served as Vice Chairman of the College Scripture Union. He is also the liaison between local governments, community leaders, and religious organizations. He is the founder of Vangrace Compassion School for Orphans, teacher and evangelistic to his Christian Faith.
The orphanage is located on 40 acres of land at God's Village ,Bukiina island Lake Victoria lake-shore. This land is a generous donation from Ivan, Grandparents for the use of building an Orphanage Homes, school, church and inhabiting several hundreds of families. This land is now own by Ivan Ssewankambo and VCM at large.
Ivan's ministry sponsors orphans through donations only provided from individual just like you. Ivan is also committed to help serve the elderly and widows in the community of BUKIINA LAKESHORE.
