Imagine a community living on the shores of the lake where mosquitoes are like a swarm of bees and these people have never experienced a life of being free from malaria.
Imagine a desolated community of only vulnerable people and refugees from Congo, Rwanda and where no one cares and no one wants to know their health status. When they get sick, it’s only them and God who knows what’s next.
Now imagine a community whose HOPE of being free from malaria and deaths due to malaria outbreak are being raised up by Pastor Ivan Ssewankambo - Founder of God's Village a Vangrace Compassion Ministries-Orphanage, a dreamer believing God to provide all.
Now in just a miraculous way this 15years old US High school girl comes up with a desire to Donate Mosquito nets as a way to help of which at first looked as dream not knowing when and how it will be accomplished until today when this generous, courageous girl breaks the bondage and send a miracle donation of 700 mosquito nets to God's Village.
Malaria is the number one cause of morbidity and mortality across Uganda (East of Africa). According to the Ministry of Public Health, it is responsible for 35 - 40% deaths in health facilities; 50% morbidity among children below 5 years of age as well as 40 - 45% medical consultations and 30% hospitalizations. Experts add that malaria is prevalent all year round in almost the entire country with the transmission period varying from 7 - 12 months.
Moved by the numbers of those affected by malaria here at God’s Village, a 15 years old American high school girl ‘CHANEL’ reached out to Vangrace Compassion Ministries with 700 mosquito nets which are to be distributed. She also explained on how the mosquito nets are to be used and distributed among those that are in desperate need of them.
Her efforts are expected to result in drop in malaria out break at God’s Village and other communities where these mosquito nets are to be distributed under Vangrace Compassion Ministries - Community Outreach Missions Program.
Many people tend to think that it’s only rich and old people that can make a great impact/ Take-Action/ donate towards the change of lives within our communities but age is not the matter. What you have, can also make a difference in the lives of those that are needy regardless of the age and riches.
