A Heart That Gives Back

At God’s Village, some stories quietly come full circle.

This month, we are honored to recognize Fatia Fortunate Ssewankambo as our Volunteer of the Month.

Known to many as Fatia Namugga, she is part of the God’s Village family—a place she proudly calls home.

Fatia is currently in her second year pursuing a Law degree at Uganda Christian University—a journey shaped by dedication, discipline, and a growing vision for her future.

But what makes this moment especially meaningful is not only where she is going…
it is what she chooses to do when she comes back home.

Whenever Fatia returns to God’s Village, she comes with one request:

“Dad, I would like to volunteer teaching.”

And faithfully, she steps into the classroom at Vangrace Academy, teaching:

  • Social Studies

  • Christian Religious Education (C.R.E)

from Grade 4 to Grade 7.

She stands before the children not just as a teacher…
but as someone who understands their journey.

With patience, joy, and a genuine love for learning, she pours into them—
not because she has to…
but because she carries a heart that remembers and gives back.

At God’s Village—our ministry haven—
this is what Rescue. Nurture. Raise. truly looks like.

A life once nurtured… now nurturing others.
A child once guided… now guiding others.

And in that quiet classroom, something powerful happens:

Hope multiplies.

Fatia’s story is not just about education.
It is about transformation, purpose, and the beauty of a life growing into what God designed it to be.

And today, we celebrate her—not only for what she is becoming…
but for what she is already giving.

With gratitude,
Pastor Ivan Ssewankambo
