Sometimes, you don’t have to travel far to walk fully into your calling.
For Nakyejjwe Hellen, her journey of faith didn’t begin on a bus or a long road—it began with an open heart and a simple “yes” to God, just 15 kilometers from God’s Village. But the power of that “yes” is still echoing in the lives of children she touches every single day.
Born and raised in the nearby community outside our ministry, Hellen could have easily chosen another path. But she saw the need—the orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children who needed more than just shelter or food. They needed someone to believe in them. To teach them. To cheer for them. And Hellen answered.
🏐 More Than a Teacher — A Champion for Every Child
By title, Hellen serves as both Ministry Caregiver and Netball Coach at God’s Village. But to our children, she’s so much more.
On weekdays, you’ll find her guiding lessons, gently correcting handwriting, helping children read with confidence and hope. And when the school bell rings and the sun lowers just enough to cool the field, Hellen laces her shoes, gathers the netball, and becomes a coach, motivator, and mother figure—all in one.
She doesn't just teach our girls how to play. She teaches them how to believe.
With every practice session, she’s building more than athletic skills. She’s nurturing resilience, teamwork, leadership, and confidence in young hearts that once struggled to smile. She reminds every child—especially every girl—that they are strong, gifted, and made for more.
💛 A Happy Soul Fit for God’s Children
Hellen serves with a joy that is infectious. Whether she’s teaching in the classroom, cheering from the sidelines, or sitting beside a child in tears, her laughter, kindness, and gentle spirit create a safe space where children flourish.
Her life is a daily offering—of time, love, and compassion.
She may live close by, but what she’s doing echoes far. Because when a heart says yes to God, even the smallest village can become the starting point of a great move of love.
🙌 A Neighbor. A Servant. A Hero.
We honor Nakyejjwe Hellen as one of our ministry’s unsung heroes. She didn’t need to travel across districts to prove her devotion—she simply walked the short road from her home into the heart of God’s call.
And every day since, she’s been walking faithfully, joyfully—pouring into the lives of children who now smile, run, and dream because of her.
📍 Just 15 kilometers away… yet a world of impact unfolds through one woman’s faith, laughter, and loving leadership.
🕊️ Because sometimes, those closest to us become the greatest gifts to those we serve.
