Wanyana Dorothy: A Creative Heart, A Joyful Yes

Sometimes, ministry starts just next door—with a willing heart, a joyful spirit, and a quiet “yes.”

This September, we are honored to celebrate Wanyana Dorothy, a radiant and dedicated teacher from a village just 15 kilometers away from God’s Village, as our Volunteer of the Month. She may live close by—but her impact stretches far across the hearts and minds of the children she teaches.

Every day, Dorothy brings more than materials into the classroom—she brings color, confidence, and care. Her calling isn't loud, but it’s powerful. And it’s changing lives, one child at a time.

From Local Neighbor to Creative Mentor

Dorothy could have chosen a different path. But instead, she responded to the quiet nudge of God’s call—and offered her gifts to the children of Vangrace Academy. With sleeves rolled up and her Vangrace shirt on, she steps into the classroom as both a Ministry Caregiver and Art & Crafts Teacher.

She leads our children into imagination. Into expression. Into healing.

Through simple materials—paper, string, crayons, clay—Dorothy opens doors for self-worth, teamwork, and joy. She doesn’t just teach art. She awakens hidden gifts in children who once doubted they had anything to offer.

In her hands, creativity becomes ministry.

A Happy Soul Fit for God’s Children

Dorothy’s smile lights up the classroom before she even speaks. She teaches gently, corrects kindly, and listens deeply.

The chalkboard behind her might be covered in scribbles and symbols, but to her, every line represents growth. Every color added by a child is a step toward healing. Every craft project is a moment of breakthrough.

She teaches children to believe in what they create—and in who they are becoming.

A Neighbor. A Servant. A Creative Force for Good.

As we close out the month of September, we celebrate Dorothy’s quiet strength, her joyful commitment, and her unshakable heart for God’s work.

She may only live 15 kilometers away. But every day, her footsteps carry compassion, creativity, and the message: You were made for more.

Her classroom is her altar. Her smile, a gift. Her service, a legacy in motion.

Just 15 kilometers away… yet her daily “yes” brings imagination, healing, and hope to a new generation of children.

Because sometimes, the greatest miracles begin with paper, paint, and a teacher who believes.
